Personal Trainer

My Real AF Journey I’ve had lupus since I was 12. For most of my life, pain was my normal. I didn’t grow up thinking I could work out — movement felt impossible, out of reach. Fitness belonged to other people. Then came a diagnosis that changed everything: Type 2 diabetes. That was my wake-up call. On May 1, 2023, I decided I was done letting my health happen to me. I took control. I didn’t know what I was doing at first, but I knew I had to start. So I did. I got certified in personal training because I refused to fly blind through this process. I wanted to understand my body, not just fight it. I studied, learned, and trained — with help from a few amazing coaches — until I found what actually works for me: high protein, resistance training, steps, sleep, and showing up even when it’s hard. I’ve gone from fat to fit in the most real way — slowly, steadily, and full of intention. I’m still not “there,” but will I ever be? This isn’t about an end point. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. This is for life. Now, I use what I’ve lived through — the pain, the diagnosis, the transformation — to help others rewrite their own stories. If I can do it, with lupus, with diabetes, with kids and chaos and doubt… you can too. I’m not just a coach. I’m proof it’s possible.
